if lost boy was a long ass song like my old electric ones, this one is a little bit like my previous album. i think i got some resolution out of writing those lyrics at the end there, and going back to experimenting with different folk instruments was a good bit of fun, at the end of a pretty tiring recording experience.
lyrics
shallow sing the waters of the empty grave,
slowly flows the blood in your humming veins,
and while burden kisses bliss, and virtue marries the vain,
you shout
remain remain x2
trickle smirking snakes down his windowpane,
sure burns the sun above his clouds of pain ,
and while a judge barks, and calls those thoughts insane,
he howls
remain remain x2
surely burn the fears in her heart's migraine,
quickly falls the tear cheered by her dark refrain,
and while doctors panic, and try to smother the pain,
she calls
remain remain x2
so sorrow and i watch a rusting railroad train,
fading frontiers paint my shirt with sweating stains,
but while i’m cooked in sand, and soaked in rain,
i cry
remain remain x2
sunkdown sundown; sly strip of shine
on the sunburned tough guy-
fly, fly, fists to five fruits of
foul pungence, devoured feverishly
guy rise, rise to fly,
rise to fuck the sky
with superman fists
into the hard sun
burn, burn, become
the desert's sucking air,
and singe the rough skin
of the weary wanderer
suffer in fire; mold in flames,
remain, remain, calls the burning plain.
Really gotta give Squat! a listen, I've got a bunch of pals in this band. My pal Pete is super riotous drummer, Matt is a warm-hearted madman and Tom is a guru at making surfy psychedelic melodies. Erk
